10 piece Brass
American Landscapes for Brass is a three-movement work from composer P. F. Strohm employing antiphonal writing for brass ensemble.  The work is scored for a 10-part ensemble, but is actually two brass quintets, one using tuba and one using bass trombone. Note that this makes the work well-suited for orchestral brass sections! The sound is American tonal, with an up-tempo Latin-rhythm opening, a song-like middle movement, and a spirited incantation and dance. The movements work well alone for use in contests, or perform the entire work as a concert or recital showpiece. Total performance time is approximately 14:40
